The Electronic Media Council manages the Electronic Media Agency and carries out the duties of a regulatory body in the area of electronic media.

The Council has seven members one of which the president of the Council is the Director of the Agency. The president and other members of the Council are appointed for a five-year term by the Croatian Parliament upon the proposal of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

Council members are: Josip Popovac, Robert Tomljenović, Vanja Gavran, Anita Malenica, Davor Marić, Damir Bučević.

Robert Tomljenović, Deputy Chairperson

Robert Tomljenović was born in Zagreb (1966). He studied at the Faculty of Law,graduated journalism and built his professional career in the field of the electronic media and the audiovisual industry, working as a reporter, editor and producer. His journalism career began in nineties on Radio 101, working as a reporter and news editor. At a newly Family Radio, he established news as a  editor in chief of the news program. His television career began with the CCN (network of local TV stations) news where he was one of the founders of the program and worked as an editor and a news host. CCN’s News of the Day was the first real competition to public service (HRT) news program. In 2000, he was awarded by Croatian Association of Journalists for the best edited show for CCN news.Eight years long BBC World Service career started at a correspondent position, followed by the Zagreb office editor position. As the first  head of the news of RTL television he has established news program and introduced new concepts of television news, and led projects of political debates and sport events. Since 2005, he managed television production company Ring Multimedia, and worked as a producer on key projects such as the award-winning documentary "Adriatic's Deepest Secrets", comedy "Boomerang" and drama series "Rest in Peace“. In July 2017, he was appointed Vice President of the Electronic Media Council.

Vanja Gavran, Member

Vanja Gavran was born in 1976. He completed the elementary and high school in his native town of Posušje (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and graduated from the departments of Croatology and Sociology at Croatian Studies in Zagreb University in 2001. During his studies, he was the President of the Student Assembly of Croatian Studies and the editor of a student magazine "Student." After completing his studies, he worked in Posušje at the Chamber of Commerce of the West Herzegovina Canton as a marketing officer. After this, he worked in Široki Brijeg as the spokesperson for the National party "Radom za boljitak," and in 2004 he moved to Sarajevo where he worked at the Croatian Cultural Association "Napredak," first as an associate for the publishing and media, and then as the Secretary General of "Napredak" until 2008. From the start of 2006 until the summer of 2007, he worked part-time at the Federal Television as a host for the Morning Program. At the end of 2008, he became the Head of the Corporate Communication Department of Croatian Telecommunications in Mostar. In the mid-2015, he came back to Zagreb, where he worked at Al Jazeera Balkans as a PR and a journalist. On July 14, 2017, following the decision of the Croatian Parliament, he was named a member of the Council for Electronic Media.  He participated and gave speeches at numerous conferences in Croatia and across Europe.

Anita Malenica, Member

Anita Malenica obtained her education in Imotski and Zagreb, graduating from the
Faculty of Political Sciences in 1991. As a journalist and radio announcer she worked at Radio Samobor. Most of her professional work she spent in the internal affairs section of Slobodna Dalmacija, from 1994 to 2006. She reported from numerous international and national meetings and events, was the youngest reporter from the Presidents Office, reported from the Parliament and the Government and worked as a commentator. She worked in Večernji list from 2006 until 2011 as a reporter, commentator, blogger and author of the travelogue „With Anita around Croatia“ For half a year she was the editor and host of the show „Eye to Eye“ at TV Mreža. She established the „Alpha info“ production house in September 2013, within which she produced shows for TV station Z1. She was the editor and host of the show „Currently with Anita“ During her career she was a guest lecturer at the Zagreb School of Business and Croatian Studies in courses related to journalism. She also headed forums at the Centre for Culture and Education in Zagreb. She is the founder of the Vlado Gotovac Institute and the author of the project and scenario of the film „The Way of Kindness – Father Miro Babić among Kenyans“. For over 20 years she has done humanitarian work in Croatia and in Kenya. Through the decision of the Croatian Parliament, on 14 July 2017 she was appointed as a member of the Electronic Media Council.

Davor Marić, Member

Davor Marić, born in Split in 1961, graduated Political Science (1983) and Journalism (1984) at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. In 1984 he obtained the Master of Information Science  degree (M.Sc.) at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin.  As a lecturer, he held media courses for students at the Faculty of Philosophy and postgraduates at the Law Faculty in Split.

He has gained most of his working experience in electronic media:  begining in 1977 as a freelancer for Radio Split, he continued working for Radio Zagreb during his studies. From 1983 to 1987 he worked as a reporter on Radio Split. In 1988 he went to work for the daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija in Split, starting as a reporter, then a political commentator and finally in 1993  the Deputy Editor in Chief.  From 1995 to 2011, as one of the founders and shareholders of Radio Dalmacija, a private county radio station in Split, he was its Director and Editor in Chief. In 2012 he became the Sales, Marketing and Promotion Director of Jadranski Radio in Split (formerly KL Eurodom). In 2013, on the basis of a public tender, he was elected the Chief of Production of the Croatian Radio and Television Center in Split (PSB). In 2016 he returns to journalism as a Coordinating Editor, reporting about economic and politics issues for Croatian Radio and Radio Split as well as editing news and current affairs programmes. At the proposal of the Croatian Government, the Parliament (Sabor) appointed  him on July 14 2017 a Member of the Council for Electronic Media at the Agency for Electronic Media.
